Happy BIrthday Kayleigh..

OK.. I know I have again slipped back into neglecting my blog.. I will try to do better..if anyone even still reads it.
Well today was Kayleigh's 7th birthday. We had a small family gathering here at home. Hello Kitty was her theme...she wanted gymnastics but we couldn't find any decor in that so she changed it. I made my first attempt at a double layer cake..



Not great but she liked it. I did the bottom cake in french vanilla and the top was butter fudge.

Next she wanted a pinata... Well the only ones we could find started at 10 dollars...UGHHH.. So I decided to venture and make one... It is suppost to be Hello Kitty... the face shape is not quiet round but it worked I guess... I am not sure all the time and mess I had to go through was worth seeing the 5 minutes it took to tear it up... No it was worth it seeing my baby girl happy with it.



Everyone had a great time and the kids ended up in the pool... not a great idea as it got rather dirty with all the guests children, but oh well....lol..

I think I will post a few pics, since I have been so neglectful in that area....

OK.. I am off for now. My sister in law is going to be induced to have her precious baby girl tomm.. so hopefully I will have some newborn pics in a couple days to post...

So warm now so cold....

Well the weather here has taken a flip since yesterday. Good thing I didn't get around to putting away the winter clothes yet. We have been having such beautiful warm weather and today it is high in the 40's. They are even mentioning snow flurries for tomm.. So we are getting some things done indoors today that got neglected during the days we spent outdoors.
During the weather we got started on some gardening. We planted some potatoes and cabbage and also got one area cleared up for the corn we plan to plant when the time comes. We still need to get the area for the beans cleared up though. I got some of my flower beds cleaned up and ready to plant. Guess you could say we caught spring fever for a couple of days...lol..
I want to thank everyone for your warm thoughts and prayers. Her husband is doing well and we are coping. Its just doesn't seem like she is gone. Her son is being taken care of really well... surrounded by the love of a great family. I saw him yesterday and he was full of cheer.
Well yesterday Kayleigh had a 4-wheeler accident and has a hurt hand. I am going to take her for an xray today. Hoping that nothing is broken and its only a bruise or sprain. Her gymnastics recital is coming up and she will be heartbroken if she has to miss it.
Well today is day 4 of my newest diet.. I am trying the South Beach diet. I have done well, but it is really hard to get started on. I have learned that I can do without bread and sweets, even though it is OH SO HARD. Having to cook and feed the rest of the family makes it a bit harder...not to have just one bite. But I am counting down until I can start introducing some back in in just 10 more days. Hopefully I will have such great results I can stick with it. I really need to get this weight gone..
Well I just wanted to update a little. I'll try to update again later with the xray results.

Goodbye dear friend....

Awakened by the phone early yesterday morning... I got the devastating news.. My dearest friend had lost her long battle. She passed away and went to a better place. After going through the surgeries, the chemo she was told the cancer was gone. We were a grateful and hopeful that it was all behind her. Then a blood test came back almost a year later with some suspicious markers...but after giving her a scare the dr. said all was well. Then a few months later a new tumor was said to be found.. then after a 2nd opinion there was no tumor but cancer cells were detected in the test. Long trips to John Hopkins in Baltimore helped her discover that her cancer had returned and at that point surgery again was not the best option. She had been treated for the wrong type of cancer the first time. Then yet another battle began. Many trips and new meds were the hope. She then couldn't eat and started losing weight but her attitude was great and she seemed to be doing OK. Then a few weeks ago another trip to John Hopkins.. This trip resulted in surgery to put stints in her kidneys. All quickly declined from there. They returned home and she was on feeding tube at night. We kept getting updated from her hubby being told shes not doing too good. We were waiting on the OK to visit but that never came. Last week she was admitted to be given blood but was home again in a few days. Then over the weekend she was rushed to a hospital a couple hours away... Reports seemed grim from there. One of the stints failed and they had to put in a tube to her kidney.. .the tube got infected and set up blood poisoning... she started losing her reality sense and was fading fast. Her body too weak to fight the infection. The family was called in. We knew the time was coming but it still didn't "hit" me. I don't really think it still has.. I think of the last time I saw her feeling well... we were laughing and joking. Making plans for the summer... I break at the thought of her being gone.. I know she is in a better place and is no longer suffering, but I miss her so much already. Not 2 months ago we were at her birthday party... she held her son a birthday party last month.. He was the light of her life and she was the best mother out there... She was so optimistic but always said Gods will is her future. I will always cherish the last hug we shared leaving with an I love you guys..........
Please PRAY for the family.. her husband is devastated and her baby doesn't understand... Thank you all....

Happy New Year, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day.....

Boy am I behind. I have been so busy and had so many things going on I have absolutely neglected blogging. I am doing better now and hope to update at least weekly.. we shall see.
I am off to a good start.. I have my housework done and 2 loads of laundry already and its only 8:30. YAY... It took all I had not to take a nap after the kids left for school, but instead I started cleaning and am so glad I did.
The Internet repair man is supposed to show up today.. SOMETIME.. They said anytime between 8-5... wow what a way to dampen the day. Hubby is off work today so it helps. I have to make a short trip to town to get some blood work done. I had some last week and my thyroid is low so she wants more testing..I am the hardest stick around.. I try to tell the techs that getting blood out of my arm isn't going to happen.. its hand or nothing. YET they always seem to "feel" it..and aren't happy until they try it, miss is or blow it.. resulting in a stick in the hand.. Hey didn't I tell them that in the first place. I don't know I guess they don't want to be told how to do there job, but it is my blood and after 4 kids and lots of sticks I know where it is...lol..
Well to update you on the family... Basketball has came and went for my baby boy.. He played in a church league and also for the school. He has came really far since last year and is turning out to be a really good all around player. We signed up for baseball yesterday.. so the practices and games will keep me busy over the next couple of months.. He is training at the gym with hubby once a week... He is doing well in school..having a little math trouble. He got a "note" sent home yesterday saying he is getting to talkative.. It happened around this time last year too.. I think its just getting toward the end of the school year and he is getting tired of it.. Even though I talked to him and he is going to try to do better. Growing up TOO fast.
Kayleigh is in gymnastics... Has a recital coming up and she is really excited about it. I feel that it is a waste of money as she is not learning anything new. She is mostly self taught. So motivated and determined. Once she sets her mind to something she will not quit until she gets it right. She is doing great in school, making honor roll this 6 weeks... Now I owe her a trip to the pizza place.. Again gr owning up too fast.
Trinity and Braelynn are still at home with me. Full of energy and bringing new experiences to me daily. Just when I think I have seen it all ..they come up with something new..lol.. Trinity had a brief accident on the 4 wheeler we got them for Christmas, Little dare devil. She was standing up and riding with now hands. Before I could get to her to tell her to quit she flipped it. UGH.. God was watching over her and she walked away with only bruises. Braelynn is on her way to being a computer wizz.. She loves to play match game and color on the children's websites.. She navigates better than many adults..lol..Both are growing fast as well...
We have a new dog. She is an indoor dog, which I had no intention of having again, but the kids are in love with her. Macy is her name and she is a maltese/yorkie. Very pretty and spoiled rotten. She love playing outdoors with our jack russell. I am glad they are such pals. The Jack russell, pupcakes, had never had anyone to play with. She tried to play with my hubby's dogs but they were older, we actually lost one last week. I think he had cancer. It hit fast and he was gone before we could get him to the vet.
Well that's mostly it. As for me I am crocheting as usual, not as much as I would like though..lol.. I am working through some bad things that have hit me..but God is bringing me through them.
OK.. Now that I have gotten up to date,hopefully I can run a normal blog.

Getting ready for Christmas....(Lots of Pics)

OK.. neglectful is an understatement but I am back. If anyone still reads I hope you enjoy. I am going to make this entry mostly pics. First of all last Saturday Kayleigh was in a Christmas parade with her gymnastics group. It was a really nice parade and helped kick us in the Christmas mood...










The rest are pics of the kids while we were doing our Christmas tree. Its nothing fancy, but is really special. I let the kids do most of the decorating themselves this year. It was nice. We turned OFF the TV and put on Christmas Carols..We had brownies baking while we put the tree up then sat in front of it and ate them after all the cleanup was done... I love doing things like this with the kids...

I don't have but a minute but I have a sick little girl right now. She has a high fever, sore throat, head ache and is just really uncomfortable. I am trying to hold off to see the ped. in the morning.. Please pray for her.

The season has arrived...

Well its getting that time of year again... the time when my kids start getting sick and passing it back and forth and back again. Last year we battled strep, so I am keeping my fingers crossed it will miss up this year.. Anyways back to topic, I had to take my dd , Braelynn, to the clinic yesterday. She started feeling bad late last week.. fever, cough, runny nose.. I was hoping just to wait it out, til yesterday she woke up with a huge red patch on her face. Not a rash..just a hot, red patch that started at her ear and covered her cheek. Well a few years ago Kayleigh had a similar looking patch and we were told it was due to fluid on her ear. So off we went to see the Dr. He walks in and says..."carpert burn"...lol.. I said no, thats one reason we are here, I wanted to make sure she doesn't have an ear infection. "No .. don't think so"... (before even checking mind you).. Well he does check her over..hears her coughing and sees how it hurts her chest and throat. We left with some cough medicine and an antibiotic. NO DIAGNOSIS though. Oh well.. we have a history of QUACKY dr's in this area. He was nice and friendly though..I will give him that. She is still feeling really yucky... fever was pretty high last night. Hopefully she will do better today.

Well Kayleigh will be starting gymnastics today. Its 35 dollars a month for a one hour session each week. SO lets just say they really better inpress me today. She is learning on her own really well but wants to learn more. She has been counting down the days. Only thing is the class is at 4:15 at school... she doesn't get home on the bus til 4:30..so I will have to pick her up.

I decided to do a doily this weekend.. I am 75% done.. Its done in christmas colors. The pattern calls it a table topper, but its rather small for a topper. I'll be posting pics soon. I could have finished up yesterday, but my finger is irritated from the thread.. Happens everytime I use a small hook and thread. Oh well there is always yarn..lol.. So last night I made my dd a pumpkin hat. No pattern I just sat down and crocheted it...Its TOO CUTE on her.. I will post pics when she is feeling better. I still have a testing project for Katchkan and am finishing up one for Anna at lullabies and lace.

I got my invite from Ravelry.. I am mom4x there too. Still learning but I'll get there.

Well I am off to rest a bit. I have been up the past 2 nights with baby girl so I am lacking in the sleep department. I am going to leave you with a pic hubby showed me. The blocks A and B are suppost to actually be the SAME color.. One of those where the mind is playing tricks on you.. Well I can't see it. He says he can but not me.. Let me know if you can.. I am thinking he said they are both black.
