Busy Busy....
We had a busy weekend. On Saturday Dalton had his last basketball game and pics. We had to be there at 9:45 and dad had to work so I was solo again. Thankfully my dad came and helped me out and got us there on time..lol.. He done really well .. scored the first 2 points of the game. I was afraid he would be reluctant in the game since he got hurt last time.. but if anything he was more aggressive... YAY.. He did good... Then hubby had a fight to referee in a town about an hour and a half away from here. I was if-fy about going because the weather forecast was not to good.. They were calling for 3-6 inches of snow. Well it was looking as if we were only going to get a "dusting" hubby said... so we ventured off in our minivan (in need of tires). It looked fine all the way there. Snow flurries flying but nothing major. The fights were great... (hubby's guys one two belts) We were all having a great time.. Time to go about 10:30 and walked outside to snow snow snow. Boy it really came down while we were there and was still pouring. We got started and the roads were not too bad until we got about half way home. Then they were pretty bad. I was a bundle of nerves... A stretch of road that normally takes us about 10 min tops took us at least 45 min... We had to go about 5 mph down this terrible mountain..Praying all the way.. But thank God we got home about 1:30am... Not real bad time considering all ....
Sunday we had a birthday party at 3. I had to go pick up the kids (roads still not completely clear) and head to the party. Hubby had to work but met us there. The kids had a great time. It was for the friend of mines son that had the cancer... She was doing really well but looked really tired.
Anyways yesterday I was supposed to take the van for new tires hubby had ordered. The place closed at 5 and I got there at 4:45 and they said that I was too late and had to come back tomm.. OHHH.. I was so mad .. I had to rush to get there and then they wouldn't do it. We are giving them approx. 500.00 for tires and they would not put them on... If they are not going to do anything after 4:45 they should close at 4:45... I was so frustrated... Hubby was mad and planned on going there to complain today but I told him if he did I would not go get them put on.. So he refrained for now. He has a tendency to say whats on his mind.. which is not a bad thing .. it can just make ya feel a bit odd sometimes.
Well I finished up another project for a swap I am in.. Just a couple more items and I will be caught up. Now I just gotta fight my addiction and not sign up for anymore til I finish up with all the ones I am currently in. I am in approx.13 swaps right now... Yep I'm an addict. I have completed and mailed out 7.. just a few more to get caught up... A few of these are square a month and dishcloth a month so it don't take much time...
Speaking of I got a package from one of my swaps ... 2 BEAUTIFUL doilies... They are from minibooger...Julia.. She has the doily technique mastered.. I hope to make my doilies look that good soon. I have just started doing doilies and I am far from mastering the technique. She also sent me some pattern books by guess who???..... Trish Kristoffersen autographed too... ON CLOUD NINE...I am ....
I hope everyone is doing well.. My kids are finally on the mend from the colds, strep, and such.. We are finally starting to feel better.. YAY... Hopefully no round three will come this way.
OH .. gotta mention the peanut butter recall... UGH.. Can you believe that? Hubby called me from work and told me to look at our jars of PB and tell him the numbers.. I read them and he said THEY ARE POISON... over dramatic hey.. Anyways my stomach fluttered and I said explain... He told me the recall and such. We had 7 jars of it..One almost completely eaten, one half way(crunchy) and 5 unopened jars. Obviously our eaten ones were not bad or I would have been sick by now.. But taken no chances. returned it to the store.. Then last night I hear chicken and something else I can't remember right off had something wrong...UGH...Is it safe to eat anything anymore....I can't wait to get my own garden out.. at least I can cover the veggie part of our diet and know its grown safely...
Ok.. I am going to go for now.. Gotta get cleaning..
